We are a state co-educational Year 7- 8 school of approximately 550 students with 20% identifying themselves as Māori, 15% Pasifika and 8% Asian.

We are proud of our committed, effective teaching and support staff.

We are a PB4L (Positive Behaviour for Learning) school with a strong behaviour management programme that is focussed on positive reinforcement of our values and the use of restorative practice.

We develop effective home/school relationships and promote an open door policy encouraging the parents, whānau and local community to take an active role in the life of our kura and their child’s learning.

We have strong community support with a high functioning Parent/Whanau Group (BPWG) and Board of Trustees that relishes the opportunity to continue to improve the educational opportunities for the students at our kura.

We are part of a high functioning Community of Learning- Te Kāhui Ako o Ōmaio ki Tāhunanui: Stoke/Tahunanui cluster Early Childhood Education, Maitai School, Tahunanui, Nayland Primary, Birchwood, Enner Glynn, Stoke and Nayland College.
